Coolant Line/Hose: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Raise and suitably support vehicle.
2. Drain coolant.
3. Transmission. See Transmission and Drivetrain.
4. Coolant air bleed pipe bolts/screws (59) and washers (58) from cylinder heads.
5. Lower vehicle.
6. Upper alternator bracket. See Starting and Charging.
7. Electrical connectors and vacuum hoses, as necessary, to gain access to bleed pipe.
8. Coolant air bleed pipe mounting nut (56) at coolant air bleed pipe stud (57).
9. Coolant hose from air bleed pipe (55).
10. Coolant air bleed pipe (55) from intake manifold.
INSTALLATION
1. Coolant air bleed pipe (55) to intake manifold.
2. Coolant hose to air bleed pipe (55).
3. Air bleed pipe mounting nut (56) at intake manifold stud (57). Tighten coolant air bleed mounting nut (56) to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
4. Electrical connectors and vacuum hoses, as necessary.
5. Upper alternator bracket. See Starting and Charging.
6. Coolant air bleed pipe bolts/screws (593 and washers (58) to cylinder heads. Use a backup wrench to hold the coolant air bleed pipe when tightening the bolts/screws. Tighten coolant air bleed pipe mounting bolts (59) to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
7. Raise and suitably support vehicle.

9. Lower vehicle.
10. Refill cooling system.
