This bulletin is being revised to change the correction section. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 77-71-70 (Section 7 - Transmission).
Condition
Some owners of the above models may experience a slip and/or DTC 1870 at 45-55 mph (70-90 kmph) when TCC applies.
Cause
Insufficient line pressure required to maintain clutch capacity under 2000 RPM.
Correction
Reflash Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Refer to your service manual for proper procedure.

This new calibration will be available starting with the October CD ROM 1997 Disc Number 21 update.
