REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

CAUTION: Refer to "Service Precautions".

1. Battery.
2. Negative cable-to-ground nut (8) and ground lead (24) from ground stud (7).
3. Negative cable (2) from cable clip (16) on accumulator bracket (26).
4. Negative cable nut (13) from engine block stud, if equipped with air conditioning.
5. Negative cable bolt/screw (25) from engine block, if equipped without air conditioning.
6. Negative battery cable (2).

INSTALL OR CONNECT

NOTICE: Refer to "Service Precautions".

1. Negative battery cable (2).
2. Negative cable (2) and negative cable bolt/screw (25) to engine block, if equipped without air conditioning.
3. Negative cable (2) and negative cable nut (13) to engine block stud, if equipped with air conditioning
Tighten
^ Negative battery cable nut (13) to 25 N.m (18 lb. ft).
^ Negative battery cable bolt/screw (25) to 27 N.m (20 lb. ft.).
4. Negative cable (2) to cable clip (16) on accumulator bracket (26).
5. Ground lead (24) and negative cable-to-ground nut (8) to ground stud (7).
Tighten
^ Negative battery cable-to-ground nut (8) to 6 N.m (53 lb. in.).
6. Battery.
