Oil Pan: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Remove the ignition coils.
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
3. Drain the engine oil.
4. Remove the exhaust catalytic converter pipe.
5. Remove the automatic transmission converter cover.
6. Remove the engine mount through bolts. Remove the engine mount nuts.
7. Use the Universal Support Fixture and the Engine Support Adapters in order to raise the engine.
8. Remove the oil level indicator sensor electrical connector.
CAUTION: Remove the oil level sensor, located in the oil pan, before the oil pan is removed. The sensor may be damaged if the oil pan is removed first.
9. Remove the oil level indicator sensor.
10. Remove the oil pan bolts.
11. Remove the oil pan. Lower the rear of the oil pan while rotating it outward.
12. Remove the oil pan gasket.
13. Clean the oil pan gasket surfaces.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION: Install the oil level sensor, located in the oil pan, after the oil pan is installed. The sensor may be damaged if the oil level sensor is installed first.
1. Install the oil pan gasket.
2. Install the oil pan.
3. Install the oil pan bolts. Tighten the oil pan bolts to 14 Nm (125 inch lbs.).
4. Install the oil level indicator sensor.
5. Install the oil level indicator sensor electrical connector.
6. Lower the engine.
7. Install the engine mount through bolts.
8. Install the automatic transmission converter cover.
9. Install the exhaust catalytic converter pipe.
10. Lower the vehicle.
11. Install the ignition coils.
12. Refill the engine oil.
