Leak Testing - Off-Vehicle
CAUTION: Do not use boil-out tanks or any tank that has been used for copper or brass radiators. The remaining solutions or chemicals in these tanks could cause radiator failure.1. Plug radiator inlet and outlet tubes. Make sure drain cock is closed.
2. Attach Cooling System Tester to radiator.
3. Build up pressure to 138 kPa (20 psi).
4. Observe gage for any pressure loss.
5. Run water over repair area and look for any bubbles.
^ If a large tank is available, radiator can be submerged to check for air bubbles.
