SUBJECT:
96-C-25 - INCORRECT CERTIFICATION LABELS

MODELS:
1996 CHEVROLET LUMINA/MONTE CARLO

General Motors has decided that certain 1996 Chevrolet Lumina/Monte Carlo model vehicles were produced with incorrect certification labels. The vehicle certification label, located on the left-front (driver's) door of these vehicles, was incorrectly identified as "NON SALEABLE".

To correct this condition, a new certification label is to be affixed to each affected vehicle. Since a new certification label can be easily installed and to reduce owner inconvenience, a new certification label will be sent directly to owners of record. Owners may install the new label or ask a dealer to do the service. Dealer service will be done at no charge to the customer.
