Wiper Motor: Service and Repair




WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT

Remove

Tool Required:
J 39232 Wiper Transmission Separator


1. Negative battery cable.
2. Wiper arm and blade assemblies.
3. Cowl panel assembly.






4. Electrical connectors from wiper motor assembly.






5. Transmission drive link socket from crank arm ball of wiper motor assembly using J 39232.
6. Three screws.
7. Wiper motor assembly while guiding crank arm through hole.






8. Seal.

Install

Tool Required:
J 39529 Wiper Transmission Installer

1. Seal on wiper motor assembly.
2. Wiper motor assembly while guiding crank arm through hole.
3. Three screws.

Tighten
Screws to 9 Nm (80 lb. in.).

4. Electrical connectors.
5. Transmission drive link socket to crank arm ball of wiper motor assembly using J 39529. Be sure socket is fully seated on ball.
6. Cowl panel assembly.
7. Negative battery cable.
8. Wiper arm and blade assemblies.
