ECM Wiring Diagram (8 Of 8):

Purpose:
Two Serial Data terminals connect the Engine Control Module (ECM) and the Central Control Module (CCM). Serial data are communication links between the ECM and CCM. Shared serial data allow information to be available to both control modules.

Operation:
The CCM may need to be informed of certain operating conditions such as, vehicle speed, oil or coolant temperature etc. Shared serial data allows the CCM to instantly obtain such information from already processed information contained in the ECM. Likewise the ECM can access information in the CCM when necessary. Shared serial data is also common between other control modules in this system. Serial data links are carried over CKT 800.

Location:
The CCM is located behind the middle of the instrument panel.
