Variable Induction Control Solenoid: Service and Repair

Secondary Air Inlet Vacuum Reservoir And Solenoid:





REMOVAL:
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Remove the intake plenum assembly, Service and Repair
3. Remove the vacuum reservoir attaching bolts.
4. Disconnect the vacuum harness connector.

CAUTION: Use care in disconnecting the vacuum harness connector to prevent damage to the vacuum tubes.

5. Vacuum reservoir and solenoid can now be removed.

Plenum Bolt Tightening Sequence:





INSTALLATION:
1. If both the reservoir and solenoid are removed, install solenoid first for re-assembly. Tighten bolts to 8 Nm (71 in.lbs).
3. Install intake plenum and tighten bolts to 26 Nm (20 ft.lbs) in the sequence shown in illustration.

NOTE: always use new gaskets when installing plenum.

4. Connect negative battery cable.
