Fig. 25 Exploded View Of Oil Pump:

Disassemble
1. Remove oil pump plate to pump housing attaching screws, then remove plate, Fig. 25.
2. Remove inner and outer gears from pump housing.
3. Remove snap ring retaining pressure regulator valve to pump housing, then remove pressure regulator valve.
4. Remove snap ring from pressure regulator valve and disassembly valve, if necessary.
5. Remove oil pump shaft seal using tool No. J-29077-A or equivalent, if not removed during disassembly.
6. Remove O-rings from pump housing.

Assemble
1. Install O-rings into pump housing, Fig. 25.
2. Assemble pressure regulator valve and install snap ring.
3. Position pressure regulator valve into pump housing, then install snap ring.
4. Position inner and outer gears into pump housing. Place inner gear into pump housing with chamfer facing rear of pump housing (toward engine). Place outer pump gear in housing with chamfer facing toward recess in pump housing.
5. Position pump plate to pump housing, then install attaching screws.
