Removal/Installation

Fig. 24 - Power Steering Pump Installation:

1. Raise and support vehicle, then drain engine coolant.
2. Remove serpentine belt, then lower vehicle.
3. Remove front air intake duct, then the alternator.
4. Disconnect radiator outlet hose from engine, heater inlet and outlet hoses from water pump, then the throttle body heater return hose from heater outlet hose.
5. Remove pump mounting bolts, then disconnect inlet and reservoir hoses from pump and remove pump.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Tighten fasteners to specifications.
b. Refill and bleed power steering system.
