Throttle Body Assembly Removal and Replacement

Throttle Body Removal:

Throttle Body (Exploded View):

Remove or Disconnect:
1. Remove negative batter cable
2. Partially drain cooling system to allow hoses at throttle body to be removed.
3. Remove air intake duct
4. Disconnect electrical connectors from TPS and IAC valve
5. Disconnect vacuum lines
6. Disconnect coolant hoses from throttle body
7. Disconnect throttle adjuster to throttle body cable
8. Remove throttle body attaching bolts
9. Remove throttle body assembly and flange gasket, discard gasket

Install or Connect:
1. Install throttle body assembly with new flange gasket
2. Tighten throttle body attaching bolts
Torque Value: 15 N-m (11 lb.ft.)
3. Install throttle adjuster to throttle body cable
4. Connect coolant hoses to throttle body
5. Connect vacuum lines
6. Connect electrical connectors to TPS and IAC valve
7. Fill radiator
8. Connect negative battery cable
9. Ensure accelerator pedal is free
10. Reset IAC valve position. Refer to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES.
11. If a new throttle body was installed refer to COMPUTERS AND CONTROL SYSTEMS for TPS learn procedure.
