Fig. 21 Water Pump & Thermostat Replacement:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Battery ground cable.
2. Intake air temperature sensor electrical connector.
3. Air cleaner and intake duct assembly.
4. Pressure cap from surge tank, then drain cooling system.
5. Lower radiator hose from thermostat housing.
6. Thermostat housing attaching bolts, then remove housing (figure 21).
7. Thermostat and seal.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Thermostat and seal, with seal taper facing upward.
2. Thermostat housing.
3. Lower radiator hose to thermostat housing.
4. Air cleaner and intake duct assembly.
5. Intake air temperature sensor electrical connector.
6. Fill and bleed cooling system, refer to Cooling System / Service and Repair / Cooling System Bleed.
7. Battery ground cable.
