Engine Mount: Service and Repair

Fig. 1 Front Engine Mount Assembly:

FRONT MOUNT

Refer to Fig. 1 when performing the following procedure.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove two bolts retaining upper engine mount to body.
3. Remove bolt retaining upper engine mount to engine bracket.
4. Raise and support vehicle.
5. Support the engine.
6. Remove inner fender shield.
7. Remove bolt retaining lower engine mount to body.
8. Remove bolt retaining lower engine mount to engine mount bracket, then remove the mount.
9. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Clean threads of all bolts removed. Prior to installation apply a suitable lock compound to bolt threads.
b. Refer to Fig. 1 for torque values.

Fig. 2 Rear Engine Mount Assembly:

REAR MOUNT

Refer to Fig. 2 when performing the following procedure.
Removal
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove engine mount nuts and bolts, then the engine mount.
4. If necessary, remove engine mount bracket.

Installation
1. Clean threads of all bolts removed. Prior to installation apply a suitable lock compound to bolt threads.
2. Install engine mount bracket if removed. Do not tighten bracket bolts at this time.
3. Slightly raise engine and transaxle.
4. Install engine mount. Refer to Fig. 2 for torque values.
5. Lower vehicle.
6. Install battery ground cable.
