Case Side Cover and Gaskets

CASE SIDE COVER AND GASKETS 4T60-E

Case Side Cover, Pump And Valve Body:

TOOLS REQUIRED:
^ J 28467-A Engine Support Fixture
^ J 36462 Engine Support Adapter Leg
^ J 28467-90 Engine Support Fixture Adapter

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Air cleaner assembly.
2. Crossover pipe.
3. Shift cable clip at lever and mount bracket.
4. Install J 28467-A, J 28467-90 and J 36462.
5. Bolt at top of transaxle mount bracket.
6. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
7. Left front wheel.
8. Left inner fender splash shield.
9. Transaxle Mount. Refer to "Transaxle Mount".
10. Loosen engine mount nuts at frame.
11. Pinch bolt at intermediate steering shaft.

CAUTION: Failure to disconnect the intermediate shalt from the rack and pinion stub shaft can result In damage to the steering gear and/or Intermediate shaft. This damage may cause loss of steering control which could result in personal injury.

12. Ball joints at steering knuckle.
13. Support right and left sides of frame with jackstands.
14. Left side frame to body bolts.
15. Loosen right side frame to body bolts.
16. Left side steering rack bolt.
17. Wiring harness.
18. Left drive axle.
19. Transaxle mount bracket. Refer to "Transaxle Bracket".
20. Position drain pan under transaxle.
21. Bolts and nuts.
22. Case side cover pan and gasket.

CLEAN
^ Case and side cover gasket surfaces.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Case side cover pan and gasket.
2. Bolts and nuts.

TIGHTEN
^ Bolts to 11 Nm (97 lb. in.).
^ Nuts to 8 Nm (71 lb. in.).

3. Transaxle mounts bracket. Refer to "Transaxle Bracket".
4. Left drive axle.
5. Wiring harness.
6. Left side steering rack bolt.
7. Frame to body bolts.
8. Remove support from frame
9. Ball joints at steering knuckle.

. CAUTION: When installing the intermediate shaft make sure the shaft is seated prior to pinch bolt installation. If the pinch bolt is inserted into the coupling before shaft installation, the two mating shafts may disengage.

10. Pinch bolt at intermediate steering shaft.
11. Engine mount at frame.
12 Transaxle mount. Refer to "Transaxle Mount".
13. Left inner fender splash shield.
14. Left front wheel.
15. Lower vehicle.
16. Bolt at top of transaxle mount bracket.

TIGHTEN
^ Bolt to 83 Nm (61 lb. ft.).

17. Remove J 8467-A, J 28467-90 and J 36462.
18. Shift cable clip at lever and mount bracket.
19. Crossover pipe.
20. Air cleaner assembly.
