ACCELERATOR CABLE

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Lower instrument panel trim attaching screws, retaining nuts and lower instrument panel trim.
2. Accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal.
3. Accelerator cable retainer clip and accelerator cable from the throttle body lever.
4. Slide accelerator cable out of the accelerator cable clamp.
5. Squeeze the accelerator cable cover tangs and push the cable through the dash panel (bulkhead).

CAUTION: To prevent possible interference or damage, flexible components (hoses, wires, conduits, etc.) must not be routed within 50 mm (2.0 in.) of moving parts, unless routing is positively controlled.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. lubricate the throttle body lever with GM P/N 1052541 or equivalent
2. Accelerator cable through the dash panel (bulkhead).
3. Slide accelerator cable into the accelerator cable clamp.
4. Accelerator cable retainer clip and accelerator cable to the throttle body lever.
5. Accelerator cable to the accelerator pedal.
6. Lower instrument panel trim attaching screws, retaining nuts and lower instrument panel trim.
7. Check for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal. Also check for poor carpet fit under the accelerator pedal. The throttle should operate freely without binding between full closed and wide open throttle.
8. Apply a heavy bodied sealer around the accelerator cable at the engine compartment side of the dash panel (bulkhead).

ACCELERATOR PEDAL

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Lower instrument panel trim attaching screws.
2. Accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal.
3. Accelerator pedal attaching nut/stud, screws and accelerator pedal.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Accelerator pedal assembly in position, install the attaching bolt and nut and tighten.
2. Accelerator cable to the accelerator pedal.
3. Check for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal. Also check for poor carpet fit under the accelerator pedal. The throttle should operate freely without binding between full closed and wide open throttle.
4. Lower instrument panel and attaching screws.
