THIS BULLETIN CANCELS AND SUPERSEDES DEALER SERVICE BULLETIN NO. 92-269-10, DATED AUGUST 1992. THE CAUSE AND CORRECTION HAVE BEEN REVISED. ALL COPIES OF 92-269-10 SHOULD BE DISCARDED.
APPLICATION:
All 1992 Chevrolet "J" series equipped with white vinyl bucket seats.
CONDITION:
Some owners of 1992 "J" cars with AR9 bucket front seats may comment that when making a sharp right or left turn, a creaking noise from the driver seat, and front passenger seat (when occupied) occurs.
CAUSE:
Excessive space between the inner front seatback pivot pin and the pivot bushing.
CORRECTION:
1. Put seatback in its most forward position. (Figure 1)
2. From rear of seat, install spacer GM P/N 16743252 on pivot pin.
