Engine Mount: Service and Repair

1. On models equipped with airbag, disable airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. On all models, remove mount retaining bolt from below frame mounting bracket, Fig. 1.
3. Raise front of engine and remove mount to engine bolts and mount. On 4.3L/V6-262 engines, the righthand mount may be removed by loosening the trough bolt. Raise engine only enough to provide sufficient clearance for mount removal. Check for interference between rear of engine and cowl panel which could result in distributor damage.
4. Reverse procedure to install.
5. Rearm airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
