1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain cooling system.
3. Loosen drive belt tensioner and remove drive belt.
4. Remove water pump pulley attaching bolts, Fig. 17, then the pulley.
5. Remove alternator, Fig. 3.
6. Remove alternator side bracket.
7. Remove water pump attaching bolts, Fig. 18, then the pump and gasket.
8. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Ensure water pump mating surface is thoroughly clean.
b. Install water pump with new gasket. Refer to Figs. 17 and 18 for torque values.
c. When installing alternator, refer to Fig. 3 for torque values.
d. When installing serpentine drive belt, refer to Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Specifications/Mechanical.
