Master Cylinder Removal and Installation

Remove or Disconnect

1. Electrical connector from fluid level sensor (1)
2. Electrical connectors from both solenoids.
3. 3-pin and 6-pin motor pack electrical connectors
4. Brake pipe tube nuts (22) from master cylinder and modulator assembly (21).
^ Plug open brake pipes to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
5. Master cylinder mounting nuts (20).
6. Master cylinder and modulator assembly (21).

Install or Connect

1. Master cylinder and modulator (21) to power booster assembly.

Tighten: Master cylinder and modulator assembly mounting nuts (20) to 27 Nm (20 lbs. ft.)

2. Brake pipes tube nuts (22) to master cylinder and modulator assembly (21).

Tighten: Brake pipe tube nuts to 20 Nm (15 lbs. ft.)

3. Electrical connector to fluid level sensor (1).
4. Electrical connectors from both solenoids.
5. 3-pin and 6-pin motor pack electrical connectors.
^ Fill master cylinder to proper level with clean brake fluid.
^ Bleed hydraulic system.
