Console: Service and Repair

CONSOLE ASSEMBLY











Remove or Disconnect

1. Negative battery cable.
2. Accessory trim plate.
3. Open ashtray lid and remove one screw.
4. Shifter knob/handle.
5. Shifter trim plate after disconnecting cigar lighter socket.
6. Two screws on top of A/C-Heater control.
7. Two screws on bottom on A/C-Heater control.
8. Radio connector and antenna lead and radio.
9. Three electrical connectors, vacuum harness and one screw attaching bowden cable on A/C Heater control, and remove control.
10. Four screws attaching console to I/P.
11. Two screws from console rear storage compartment.
12. Electrical connectors and remove console asm.
13. Two screws attaching console extension to front console bracket.
14. Two screws attaching console extension to shift control bracket
15. Console extension.

Install or Connect

1. Console extension
2. Two screws attaching console extension to shift control bracket.
3. Two screws attaching console extension to front console bracket.
4. Console asm, and connect electrical connector.
5. Two screws into console rear storage compartment to rear console bracket.
6. Four screw attaching console to I/P.
7. A/C-Heater control, three electrical connectors, vacuum harness and bowden cable and one screw to secure bowden cable.
8. Radio, electrical connector and antenna lead.
9. Two screws into bottom of A/C-Heater control.
10 Two screws into top of A/C-Heater control and bottom of radio.
11. Cigar lighter connector and install shifter trim plate.
12. One screw into trim plate at ashtray.
13. Shifter knob/handle.
14. Accessory trim plate.
15. Negative battery cable.

CONSOLE TRIM PLATE






Remove or Disconnect



1. Accessory trim plate.
2. Shifter knob/handle.
3. Open ashtray and remove one screw.
4. Shifter trim plate and disconnect cigar lighter connector.

Install or Connect

1. Cigar lighter connector and shifter trim plate.
2. One screw into ashtray.
3. Shifter knob/handle.
4. Accessory trim plate.

CONSOLE EXTENSION TO BRACKETS






Remove or Disconnect

1. Negative battery cable.
2. Console Asm.
3. Two screws from front console bracket.
4. Two screws from shift control bracket.
5. Console extension.

Install or Connect

1. Console extension.
2. Two screws into shift control bracket.
3. Two screws into front console bracket
4. Console Asm.
5. Negative battery cable.
