SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The THERMAC system regulates incoming air temperature without the use of vacuum. The air regulating damper is controlled by means of a self contained, actuated wax pellet assembly, attached to the air cleaner housing. When the air entering is cold, the wax material, which is sealed in the actuator, causes the damper door to close off the outside air inlet. This allows all entering air to be heated by the exhaust manifold. As the air warms, the wax material expands by changing to a liquid state. The piston repositions the damper door allowing intake air (hot and cold) to combine.
