Diagnostic Procedure

1. Turn ignition switch to Off position.
2. Disconnect ABS control module harness connector and connect it to ABS Tester tool No. J35890 or equivalent using the cable.
3. Follow manufacturers instructions for use of ABS Tester tool No. J35890-20 or equivalent.
4. Turn ignition switch to Run position to apply power to tester. Power-up messages will be displayed by tester in rapid sequence.
5. The ABS tester will display one or more messages. These messages are listed in SYMPTOM MESSAGE column of Symptom Directory chart, refer to DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS/SYMPTOM DIRECTORY CHART. Perform REPAIR ACTION as described in Symptom Directory chart by following pin-point tests, refer to DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS/PINPOINT TEST. Check tester manufacturer operating instructions for a description of test sequences and display messages.
6. After condition indicated by tester has been repaired, repeat entire test. This will reveal any other malfunction that may exist which has not been corrected.
