Piston Measurements and Replacement

Fig. 11 Piston & Rod Assembly:

Install piston to rod with notch or arrow and hole on piston facing toward front of engine and rod bearing tang slot opposite camshaft, Fig. 11. Upon installation, measure the connecting rod side clearance using a suitable feeler gauge. Clearance should be .004-.015 inch.
