Model and Year: 1989-90 B CAR WITH 5.7L (VIN CODE 7) ENGINE
Some 1989 and 1990 B-cars with 5.7L V8 engines may run hot at low RPM's during an extended idle or at high speed operation.

Thermostat opening and expansion rates may not provide high coolant flow during extended idle or high speed operation.

A new service-only thermostat is available that has improved opening and flow characteristics for increased engine cooling. The new part number is 10108666 and it is a 195 degree F thermostat.

Parts are currently available from GMSPO.
