Test I: Outside Temperature Display Indicates Cold
Sensor Locations - Typical:
1. Disconnect the outside air temperature sensor connector. Measure the resistance from terminal A (BLK/WHT) to ground.
a. If the resistance is zero ohms, go to step 2.
b. If the resistance is not zero ohms, check the BLK/WHT(450) wire for high resistance or an open.
2. Jumper terminals A and B of the outside air temperature sensor. Turn the ignition switch to the "RUN" position and observe the outside temperature display.
a. If the display now indicates hot (185 F.), replace the outside air temperature sensor.
b. If the display still indicates ground (-38 F.), check LT GRN/BLK(735) wire for an open. If good, then replace the instrument cluster.
