Connecting Rod: Service and Repair

Install piston to rod with notch or arrow on piston facing toward front of engine and rod bearing tang slot opposite camshaft, Fig. 7. Upon installation, measure the connecting rod side clearance using a suitable feeler gauge. Measurement taken should be as follows:
