Defect & Vehicle Involved, Owners, Dealer & Part Information

DEFECT INVOLVED

General Motors has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 1989 Chevrolet Corsica and Beretta model vehicles. The front seat frame assembly may contain an improper, missing and/or mislocated weld. Fracture of a weld could cause unexpected seat movement. This may result in personal injury and/or loss of vehicle control. A loss of vehicle control could result in a vehicle crash without prior warning.

To correct this condition, dealers are to replace both front seat assemblies.
