Disassembly





1. Remove lower valve body plate and gaskets, then the bypass valve and spring.
2. Remove pressure relief valve and spring, then the strainer.
3. Press in 3-4 shift valve plug, then remove key and plug. Remove 3-4 shift valve and spring.
4. Press in 1-2 shift valve plug, then remove key and plug. Remove 1-2 shift valve and spring.
5. Press in secondary regulator valve plug, then remove key and plug. Remove secondary regulator valve and spring.
6. Press in 2-3 shift valve plug, then remove key and plug. Remove 2-3 shift valve and spring.
7. Press in second coast modulator valve plug, then remove key and plug. Remove second coast modulator valve and spring.
8. Press in lock-up signal valve plug, then remove key and plug. Remove spring and lock-up signal valve.





9. Check lower valve body valve springs for squareness, rust and collapsed coils. Measure free length of springs and replace if less than specified in image.
