Disassembly

DISASSEMBLY
1. Using a suitable feeler gauge, measure clearance between snap ring and flange. If clearance exceeds 0.0350-0.0575, replace discs or flange.
2. Remove snap ring from clutch drum, see image, then the flange, discs and plates.
3. Using tool No.09350-32011 or equivalent, compress piston return springs, then remove snap ring using a suitable screwdriver.
4. Remove spring retainer, then the 18 return springs.
5. Assemble direct clutch onto oil pump, then remove piston using compressed air and, if necessary, a suitable pair of pliers. Remove direct clutch from oil pump.
6. Remove clutch piston O-ring.
