Power Steering Pump: Service and Repair

1984---88 CORVETTE

1. Rotate belt tensioner counterclockwise, and remove serpentine drive belt.
2. Remove AIR pump pulley.
3. Remove bolts securing power steering reservoir bracket and bolts securing reservoir brace to intake manifold.
4. Disconnect power steering hoses between pump and steering gear, then plug hoses and open fittings.
5. Remove pump mounting bolts, pump and reservoir.
6. Reverse procedure to install, torquing pump and bracket bolts to 18 ft. lbs.
