Master Cylinder Removal and Installation

CAUTION: Brake fluid will damage electrical connections and painted surfaces. Use shop cloths, drip pans and fender covers to prevent brake fluid from contacting these areas.

Removing/Installing Master Cylinder Assembly:





Removal:
1. Loosen tube nuts (23) and disconnect two hydraulic brake pipes (24).
2. Plug pipes (24) to prevent entrance of contaminates.
3. Remove attaching nuts (25).
4. Remove master cylinder assembly.

Installation:
1. Install master cylinder(26).
2. Torque attaching nuts (25) to 20-34 Nm (15-25 lb-ft.).
3. Install brake pipes.
4. Attach tube nuts (23) and torque to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft.).
5. Fill master cylinder.
6. Bleed the brake hydraulic system. Refer to Brakes/Service and Repair/Bleeding Procedure. Service and Repair
