General Information

1. Turn ignition switch to ``Off'' position.
2. Disconnect ABS control module harness connector and connect it to ABS Tester J35890 using cable.
3. Follow manufacturers instructions for using ABS Tester J35890-20.
4. Turn ignition switch to ``Run'' position to apply power to tester. Power-up messages will be displayed by tester in rapid sequence.
5. The ABS tester will display one or more messages. These messages are listed in SYMPTOM MESSAGE column of Symptom Directory chart, Figs. 10 and 11. Perform REPAIR ACTION as described in Symptom Directory chart by following pin-point tests, Figs. 12 through 22. Check tester manufacturer operating instructions for a description of test sequences and display messages.
6. After condition indicated by tester has been repaired, repeat entire test. This will reveal any other malfunction that may exist which has not been corrected.
