Thermostat: Service and Repair

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Engine coolant, partially.
3. Water outlet to inlet manifold attaching bolts.
4. Water outlet.
5. Thermostat.

CLEAN
^ Inlet manifold mating surfaces.
^ Water outlet mating surfaces.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Thermostat in inlet manifold.
2. Water outlet to inlet manifold.
Tighten
^ Bolts to 27-41 Nm (20-30 ft. lb.)
3. Attaching bolts with sealer.
Tighten
^ To 25 Nm (18 ft. lb.).
4. Engine coolant.
5. Negative battery cable.

INSPECT
^ For correct completion of repair.
^ For coolant leaks.
