Subject: TEMPERATURE WARNING LIGHT MAY GLOW DIMLY WHEN ENGINE WARMS UP
Model and Year: 1988 CELEBRITY WITH GAUGE CLUSTERS (UF7)
TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS
Condition: On some 1988 Celebrity models with optional gauge cluster (UF7), a temperature warning light is used in addition to the gauge. On some early built vehicles this warning light may glow dimly when the engine reaches normal operating temperature.
Cause: A wire may be incorrectly connected under the dash. This wire should only be connected on cars with standard warning lights. This wire supplies a second ground path to the light, causing a dim glow.
Repair: 1. Remove glove box.
2. Disconnect single wire at connection just above glove box opening. This wire is green on one side of the connection, and green/white stripe on the other.
3. Reinstall glove box.
