Left Side

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Bracket tube at cover.
3. Plug wire cover.
4. Heater hose at filler neck.
5. Cover bolts.
6. Cover.

CAUTION If cover adheres to cylinder head, shear off by bumping end of rocker arm cover with palm of hand or soft rubber mallet. DO NOT SCRATCH SEALING FLANGE.

CLEAN
^ Sealing surface on cylinder head and valve cover with degreaser.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. New gasket. Make sure gasket is sealed properly in Valve cover groove.
2 . Apply 1052917 or equivalent in notch
3. Valve cover.
Tighten
^ Cover bolts 8-12 Nm (6-9 ft. lbs.)
4. Heater hose.
5. Plug wire cover.
6. Breather tube.
7. Negative battery cable.

INSPECT
^ For oil leaks at sealing surfaces.
