Some 1985 model year Spectrum cars may exhibit a harsh 1-2 upshift condition on subject vehicles.
This condition can be caused by transient line pressures being higher than desired at the time of shifting, this in turn causes excessive loading of the second gear band.
On vehicles with this condition, the valve assembly control should be replaced using new Part Number 94422455. This assembly incorporates a number of new parts which are designed to eliminate the line pressure pulse wave at the time the shift occurs.
