EXC. 1987-88 TURBOCHARGED MODELS

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect oxygen sensor electrical connector.
3. Disconnect TCA flex hose, then remove hot air cover.
4. Raise and support vehicle.
5. Disconnect exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold, then lower vehicle.
6. Remove exhaust manifold attaching nuts and bolts, then the exhaust manifold, Fig. 5.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Using a straightedge and feeler gauge, check cylinder head surface for warpage.
b. Exhaust manifold must be replaced if warpage exceeds .0157 inch (0.4 mm).
