Removal and Replacement

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove air intake tube, then disconnect speedometer cable at transaxle.
3. Disconnect thermostat housing and ground cable at transaxle, then remove upper mount to bracket attaching bolt.
4. Disconnect transaxle electrical connectors, then the T.V. cable at carburetor.
5. Remove 2 upper bellhousing attachin9 bolts, then support engine using a suitable support tool.
6. Raise and support vehicle, then remove left wheel assembly.
7. Remove left and right splash shields, then the center splash shield.
8. Remove center beam, then disconnect shift cable at transaxle.
9. Remove shift cable bracket, then the cooler bracket
10. Disconnect cooler lines at outlets, then remove inspection cover.
11. Remove torque converter attaching bolts, then the left control arm at ball joint.
12. Remove right and left axle shafts at transaxle, then the starter attaching bolts.
13. Remove 3 rear transaxle attaching bolts, then support transaxle, using a suitable jack.
14. Remove remaining transaxle attaching bolts, then the remaining bellhousing attaching bolts.
15. Remove transaxle from vehicle.
16. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Torque transaxle housing attaching bolts to 47 ft lbs. for 12 mm bolts or 34 ft lbs. for 10 mm bolts.
b. Torque LH engine mount bolts to 38 ft lbs.
c. Install white torque converter bolt first, then the five yellow bolts. Torque bolts evenly to 13 ft lbs.
d. Torque engine mount center support bolts to 29 ft lbs.
e. Torque front and rear mount bolts to 29 ft lbs.
