Ball Joint: Service and Repair

1. Loosen wheel lug nuts.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove tire and wheel assembly.
4. Using tool J-35413 or equivalent, separate ball joint from knuckle assembly.
5. Remove two nuts and bolts attaching ball joint and control arm.
6. Remove ball joint.
7. Reverse procedure to install. Torque knuckle to ball joint nut to 82 ft. lbs. and control arm attaching nuts to 47 ft. lbs. During installation, always replace a self-locking nut with a new one.
