Cleaning & Inspection

1. Clean components with suitable solvent and blow dry with compressed air, noting the following:
a. Do not immerse accelerator pump, diaphragms, float, electrical components or plastic bushings in solvent as they will be damaged.
b. Do not pass drills or wires through calibrated orifices as they will be damaged.
c. Ensure that all solvent and foreign material is removed from carburetor passages, and that sealing surfaces are free from old gasket material.
2. Inspect components and replace any that are damaged, distorted or excessively worn.
3. Inspect float and replace if damaged or saturated with fuel.
4. Check choke and throttle shafts for looseness and free operation and repair or replace as needed.
5. Check primary solenoid valve for proper operation by connecting valve wire to suitable 12 volt battery ground. Using a suitable jumper wire, connect positive battery voltage to valve outer shell. Solenoid should click, indicating proper operation.
6. Check secondary solenoid valve for proper operation by connecting solenoid wires to suitable 12 volt battery, black wire to ground. Solenoid should click, indicating proper operation.
7. Check choke heater resistance with suitable ohmmeter connected to choke coil terminal and to choke housing. If reading exceed 18 ohms, replace air horn assembly.
8. Check operation of power valve. Air should only pass through valve when it is compressed.
9. Ensure power piston moves freely in bore.
