Some 1985-87 Camaros equipped with 5.0L or 5.7L engines may exhibit a moan or engine vibration when the air conditioning compressor is engaged. This condition may be improved by the installation of a support brace to the A/C compressor mounting bracket. Refer to the Illustration for installation procedure.

NOTICE: THE STUD SHOULD BE COATED WITH THREAD SEALANT, P/N 1052080, PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.

A/C COMPRESSOR BRACEINSTALLATION:
Step 1. Drill a 13/32 in. hole in the A/C compressor bracket as shown in the drawing below
A/C COMPRESSOR BRACEINSTALLATION:
Step 2. Remove bolt from water pump at the 2 o'clock position and install stud P/N 14057002 (3/8 - 16)
Step 3. Attach support brace P/N 10055819 to A/C compressor bracket using bolt P/N 9440169 (3/8 - 16)
Step 4. Attach other end of support brace to stud on water pump using nut P/N 14057004 (3/8 - 16)
