TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS

During the 1986 model year, a limited number of first generation 2.8 Liter V6 MPFI engines were built with MULTEC fuel injectors. This new designed injector is being produced by the Rochester Products Division and looks slightly different from the Bosch injector. See Illustration for comparison. The primary difference in appearance between the two injectors is at the spray tip end, and is due to the different fuel metering designs. Fuel metering in the MULTEC injector is controlled by a ball valve/seat and director plate, while metering control in the Bosch design is done by a pintle valve and seat.
