Valve Body Replace
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.2. Disconnect T.V. cable from throttle body lever, if applicable.
3. Remove transmission oil pan and filter assembly as described previously.
4. Disconnect tan colored electrical con connector from low pressure cut-oft switch.
5. Disconnect T.V. cable from T.V. lever, if applicable, then remove bolt retaining T.V. cable to valve body.
6. Remove remaining valve body to transmission case attaching bolts.
Description:
7. Remove valve body and spacer plate assembly from overdrive unit. Care must be taken when removing valve body to prevent loss of the check ball(s). One check ball is spring loaded under the separator plate in the valve body. On 1984-85 models, a second check ball is located under the transmission case above the separator plate.
8. To install valve body, reverse removal procedure and note the following on 1984-85 models:

a. Remove T.V. cable attaching bolt from overdrive case. Install tool No. J-34671-1 or equivalent into TV. cable bore, then hook T.V. cable onto top step.
b. Unhook T.V. cable from top step, then connect T.V. cable onto lower step.
Description:
c. Position tool No. J-34671 -2 or equivalent, between piston and solenoid bracket. Adjust screw/bolt on TV. ever until bolt contacts cam stop.
