Subject: POWER SEAT INOPERATAIVE AND/OR BLOWS FUSE


Model and Year: 1984-90 CORVETTE

Figure 1:

Condition: Power Seat (AQ9) inoperative and/or blows fuse.

Cause: Seat Control Switch Wire Harness may be shorted at gearnut support bracket. (See Illustration) With seat cushion installed, harness contacts gearnut support bracket and may become shorted with weight of driver/passenger.

Correction: Repair and/or replace harness as required. Using a section of rubber hose (gas line) about (4) inches long (split), cover harness as illustrated taping both ends.
