Dashboard / Instrument Panel: Service and Repair
Replacement
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove I.P. cluster bezel.
3. Remove screws attaching I.P. pad to carrier.
4. Remove 2 screws at defroster ducts.
5. Remove I.P. pad.
6. Remove 4 left close out panel attaching screws. Disconnect electrical connector at courtesy and remove panel.
7. Remove 4 right close out panel attaching screws. Disconnect electrical connector at courtesy lamp and remove panel.
8. Remove right side I.P. trim and fuse cover.
9. Remove 4 upper dash brace attaching screws and remove braces.
10. Remove right flexible A/C duct hose and A/C duct.
11. Remove 2 screws at I.P. to side glass defroster hose.
12. Remove right side trim pad.
13. Remove right lower carpeted panel ( 1 screw, 4 nuts to trim, 2 screws to O.I.).
14. Remove radio.
15. Remove 4 screws to center cluster and carrier.
16. Disconnect wire connectors at main cluster. Metal retaining clips are located at back side of connectors.
17. Remove the center cluster.
18. Remove the main cluster (4) screws.
19. Remove console bezel and shift handle. Disconnect bulb connector.
20. Remove 4 A/C control to I.P. attaching screws and push control back through opening.
21. Remove headlamp switch attaching nut.
22. Remove fog lamp switch.
23. Remove trim piece at hood release handle.
24. Remove steering column trim cover and 2 steering column attaching bolts.
25. Remove 2 carrier to console bolts. Remove 2 nuts at upper sides of console and 2 bolts at lower sides. Disconnect fuse block from carrier.
26. Remove center A/C duct.
27. Remove left side A/C duct and 2 screws at carrier to def. duct.
28. Remove I.O. harness to carrier screws at backside of carrier and to left def. hose at column brace.
29. Remove carrier.
30. Reverse above procedure to install.
