Caliper Disassembly
1. Remove caliper as described under ``Brake Shoe & Lining Removal.''
2. If caliper requires machining, remove inlet fitting.
3. Remove and discard self locking bolts.
4. Remove bracket bolts. Remove brake shoe and lining assemblies only if they are to be replaced or if the mounting bracket is being removed for rotor machining.
5. Position a clean shop towel on the inside of the caliper housing, then using compressed air, apply air to brake hose port and remove piston.
6. Inspect piston for wear and/or damage. Replace, if necessary.
7. Remove piston boot from housing.
8. Remove piston seal from caliper bore groove. Do not use a sharp tool to remove piston seal.
9. Inspect caliper bore for scoring or corrosion. If scoring or corrosion exists, replace caliper as required.
10. Remove bleeder screw and rubber cap from bleeder screw.
11. Inspect guide pins for corrosion. If corrosion exists, replace guide pins as required.
