Some 1984 Corvettes may experience brake pad hold-down spring breakage. Stainless steel hold-down spring and pin kits are now available for service. The stainless steel spring kit (P/N 14091366) includes material and instructions to service either the front or rear pads. Two (2) kits are required to service the entire vehicle.
New brake pads are available with the stainless steel springs and pins to replace pads with fully worn linings. The following part numbers should be used when ordering new pad assemblies:
