CHART C-2D, SSC WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION

SSC is activated on manual transmission cars when engine speed is above 2500 rpm's. This prevents converter overheating on deceleration. The vacuum switch solenoid and fast idle relay are used only on cars with A/C to energize vacuum switch solenoid while holding the throttle blade open.

1. This is a functional check
2. Checks output signal of engine speed module.
3. Checks for tach signal at module
4. Checks for 12V signal to module. The 12V signal is supplied by the choke heater fuse.
5. Checks for a good ground at module.
6. Check output signal of fast idle relay.
7. Checks 12 volt signal to relay. If 12 volts was available at module and 12V is not at relay, check for open between relay and module. Also check connections.
8. Checks ground wire and connection.
9. Checks wire from fast idle relay to fast idle solenoid.
10. Checks for 12V signal at solenoid.
11. Checks fast idle solenoid ground and wire.
