Subject: FRONT DOOR LOCK REMOTE HANDLE AND SWITCH ESCUTCHEON GASKET REPLACEMENT

Model and Year: ALL 1984-85 CHEVROLET CELEBRITYS

TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS

REMOTE HANDLE AND SWITCH ESCUTCHEON:

A condition has been encountered where the remote handle escutcheon gasket may grow or creep from behind the door remote handle and switch escutcheon.. Cars built on or after October 7, 1984 will not have the gasket installed. If a gasket is needed, it may be fabricated and installed on the escutcheon using 3M-06375 Scotchmount foam tape or equivalent as shown in the illustration below.
